From those prices, the top is only limited by your imagination and the surface area of the instrument. Once you leave the basic instrument you are in to custom orders. All custom orders will be given an estimate, half of which is necessary up front as a non-refundable deposit before work can begin. Once we have agreed on a price and I start cutting boards, the deposit is spent.

Soundholes can be done in a myriad of shapes and designs. I have a collection of the ones I use, if you have an idea that you like, let me know. Hearts, Hummingbirds, Trees, F-holes, Circles, Knotholes when they are available, Celtic Knots, Religious symbols. From the traditional to post-modern, if you can visualize it, it can be done.

Woods can be mixed and matched for different tonal qualities. Spruce can be used for the top. Butternut is another traditional choice for an instrument top. The fingerboard can be the same as the back and sides of the instrument or even solid rosewood or overlaid with ebony for a fantastic effect in both sound and appearance.

Inlay can be done in a flat peghead and also in the fingerboard. Everything from simple dots to a tree of life done in mother of pearl and abalone. Flowers, names, themes, etc.........

Purfling and Binding can be done to match your favorite guitar. Send a pic of your guitar if you would like a dulcimer to match.
